Limulunga District, successfully convened a productive Budget Hearing Meeting with stakeholders on Friday, 17th October, at the St. Lawrence Conference Hall. The meeting served as a vital platform for transparency and collaboration, reviewing the achievements of the previous fiscal year and presenting the proposed budget for 2026.
Community representatives, leaders, and officials engaged in constructive discussions, affirming a shared vision for the district’s development. The proposed budget for 2026 strongly reflects the priorities, demonstrating our commitment to responsive governance.
Key Stakeholder Highlights for the FY2026 Budget:
The submissions included but not limited to the following:
- Healthcare Boost: Construction of new health facilities in Limulunga East and Macuu zone, plus a gen set for the mini-hospital.
- Education & Skills Upgrade: Raising the Limulunga Day school wall fence, constructing a new classroom block at Moombo, and renovating the training centre.
- Infrastructure Revolution: A major commitment to constructing roads across the entire district and key bridges in Simaa Ward (Naluwe & Simaa) and Sitoya Ward.
- Enhanced Safety & Welfare: Building a new Police Post in Mabili and a One-Stop GBV Centre to protect our citizens.
- Agricultural Development: Construction of crush pens in all wards and Ikwichi, rabies vaccinations, and accommodation for extension officers.
- Essential Services: New water and sanitation projects in Makuku and the construction of a new market structure and Council lodge.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of monitoring grant beneficiaries, recruiting more veterinary and agriculture officers, and ensuring youth participation in development programs.
