LIMULUNGA DISTRICT HOLDS THE 2025 BUDGET STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATIVE MEETING

Limulunga Town Council had yesterday 15th September, 2025 – In preparation for the 2026 budget, held the 2025 Budget Stakeholder Consultative Meeting at St. Lawrence Conference hall. The meeting brought together community representatives, government departments, and local leaders to review the 2025 budget performance and gather crucial input for the upcoming fiscal year.
The session aligned with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development’s 2026-2028 Budget Call Circular, which emphasizes community participation, alignment with national development goals, and the completion of ongoing projects.
Key submissions from stakeholders highlighted a strong focus on improving infrastructure and essential services. Priority project proposals for the 2026 budget include:
• Infrastructure Development: Construction and rehabilitation of road networks, including the Water Plant road and key junctions, alongside the installation of public street lighting.
• Enhanced Public Services: Construction of a modern market structure, improvement of sanitation services, and a new sewer pond.
• Health Facility Upgrades: Construction of maternity annexes, rehabilitation of wards, staff housing, and reliable lighting and backup power sources for health facilities.
• Economic Empowerment: Projects aimed at boosting local agriculture and fisheries, including irrigation schemes, a fish farming hatchery, and a livestock center.
• Security & Housing: Renovation of the current police post and construction of new housing units for camp officers to improve service delivery.
The Council leadership thanked all stakeholders for their active participation and valuable contributions. These submissions will be reviewed and integrated into the draft 2026-2028 Medium-Term Budget Plan.
